In this research, you design a layout of RISC core processor with FreePDK kits. Layout design is an important process to decide the processor performance related with speed, power consumption, and price. FreePDK is open tools to evaluate your circuit and layout design, released for 45nm and 15nm semiconductor process. A design kit for three-dimensional chips also provided from the same company. You will layout ready-to-use processors like OpenRISC and RISC-V to investigate layout techniques for high performance and low power consumption systems.

Learn from tutorial: Layout design of tiny MIPS processor
Selection of Processor: Investigate OpenRISC, RISC-V, and other processors activities from the aspect of size, performance, and software development tools.
Learn the detail of selected processor: Investigate the detail of modules, and logics
Layout design and evaluation

You will write four documents
