Discussion of the meeting held on Friday, August 16th 2013:

- Complete the simulation of the system previously discussed:
-- RAB for buffer fault-tolerance
-- BLoD for crossbar fault-tolerance

- Implement the optimization for the RAB.
--Start first by implementing the borrowing technique
--Second, implement the prediction table for the buffer sharing technique
-- Investigate about the best rule that should be set for the prediction of the least busy buffer

- Implement the optimization for the Bypass-Link-on-Demand (BLoD):
-- Exploit the unsed crossbar links on the edges of the network instead of adding additional bypass links
-- Investigate about a mathematical model expressing the unused crossbar link (as a motivation)

- Evaluation: Divide the evaluation into three section:
--Evaluate the RAB technique in terms hardware complexity, throughput, and latency
-- Compare three different systems:
--- RAB with no buffer sharing
--- RAB with the borrowing technique
--- RAB with the prediction table

--Evaluate BLoD technique in terms hardware complexity, throughput, and latency
-- Compare different systems:
--- No BLoD
--- One Bypass-link
--- Optimal number of Bypass-link

-- Evaluate LAFT routing in terms hardware complexity, throughput, and latency
-- Compare with:
---XYZ
---LA-XYZ

*** Major modifications: [#y22693d1]

- Rewrite the Introduction part
- Add anew section (Failure Anlaysis)

- Rewrite the Related work
-- remove the irrelevant works
-- Dedicate a subsection for routing algorithm
-- Dedicate a subsection for reliable router architecture

- Modify the hardware evaluation section:
-- Use Design compiler for the evaluation instead of Quartus II
-- Include a small table comparing the area and power overhead of the proposed router with that of the baseline one
-- Add a mall paragraph about the layout of the router obtained with SoC Encounter

** Fifth draft : Completed on April 11, 2014 ([[PDF>http://aslweb.u-aizu.ac.jp/~m5141153/Conferences/IEEE/IEEEtran-5.pdf]], [[Latex>http://aslweb.u-aizu.ac.jp/~m5141153/Conferences/IEEE/IEEEtran-5.rar]]) [#hf15dfd5]
