Title: Low latency 3D Hybrid Photonic Network On Chip Routing and router architecture
1- Abstract:
Proposal of 3D hybrid photonic NoC with new optical switch architecture that allows generating all Ack and the path teardown signal in optical manner.
The proposed switch will also be able to inject and eject using any port of the 4 ports of the switch in an adaptive way according to the switch state.

- Semiconductor evolution
- 2D and 3D limitations.
- Evolution of the nanophotonics silicon based technology and how photonic components based on silicon can be integrated with electronic components in the same wafer. Example of such components and their characteristic will be given.
- Existing Photonic NoC architecture.
• Fully optical NoC: Advantages and disadvantages.
- Very short latency
- Minimal bandwidth
• Hybrid photonic NoC : Advantages and disadvantages.
- High bandwidth through WDM
- Electronic network still available for small control messages
- Latency Overhead for path setting
- The proposed photonic NoC will be hybrid based. With the capability of enhance and get rid of the limitations of the hybrid architecture.
