RESEARCH

ASL research focuses on the areas of adaptive systems and architectures, which includes coordinated tasks on all system layers ranging from core-level architecture to runtime systems all the way to the system level. These adaptive systems should monitor themselves, analyze their behavior, learn and adapt to several execution environments while keeping the system’s complexity invisible to the user.
Our current research topics include: (1) emerging interconnects (3D-TSV, Photonic, electro-photonics) for network-on-chips and embedded manycore SoC systems, (2) Application of machine learning techniques for designing reliable and energy-efficient manycore SoCs, (3) Novel parallel computing models and architectures, (4) Neuromorphic circuits and systems, and (5) edge and IoT computing.
